Privacy policy

CoPublisher AI ("CoPublisher", "we") is a newsroom tool for sports and local news publishers, operated by CoPublisher AI LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you use the CoPublisher website and mobile apps, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your name and byline, your role in your newsroom, and a profile photo if you add one.
- Your newsroom's work: drafts, articles, notes, transcripts, audio or video you upload to transcribe, team chat messages and photos, calendar items, and settings. This belongs to your newsroom and is visible to the members of your newsroom according to their roles.
- Connected accounts: if your newsroom connects analytics or social accounts (for example Chartbeat, Google Search Console, Buffer, X, Facebook/Instagram or YouTube), we store the access keys needed to read your numbers. These are encrypted before they are stored.
- Notifications: if you turn on alerts on a device, we store that device's push notification address.
- Basic technical data: server logs (time, page, errors) kept for a short period to run and secure the service.
We don't sell your data, we don't show ads in CoPublisher, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
- To run the service: find and rate news for your beat, edit and draft articles, transcribe audio, send the alerts and emails you choose, and show your newsroom's analytics.
- To keep it secure, fix problems and improve it.
Who processes it for us
We use these providers to run CoPublisher, only for that purpose:
- Anthropic (AI writing, editing, rating and summaries)
- AssemblyAI (transcription of audio and video you upload or stream)
- Vercel (hosting and file storage) and Supabase (database and sign-in)
- Google and SendGrid (sending email), and your browser's or phone's push service (notifications)
- The analytics and social services your newsroom chooses to connect
Text you send to the AI and transcription providers is used to give you results, not to train their models, under their business terms.
How long we keep it
Your newsroom's work is kept while your newsroom uses CoPublisher. Server logs are kept for a short period. When an account is deleted, its sign-in and personal details are removed; work saved to the newsroom (such as published articles) stays with the newsroom.
Your choices
- Delete your account any time in the app: Preferences › Your account › Delete my account.
- Turn emails, alerts and notifications on or off, and choose their days and hours, in Preferences.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct or delete it: support@copublisher.com.
Children
CoPublisher is for working journalists and publishers and is not directed to children under 13.
